"The House”, the place where East-meets-West comes alive.
As we already go out and taste many kinds of food, today i would like to introduce you another kind of food which is not belong to any nations.
It has been a while that “Fusion Food” becomes the new trend of eating. But do you know what is the fusion food?
What about you? What do you think it is?
The House" is a place where Asia meets America. It is the mix between Asian and American food or that we usually called nowadays “Asian Fusion Food”. The food and flavors, especially its presentation of each dish is a work of art. I discovered this place when my cousin took me to celebrate my birthday last year. Ever since, it becomes one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco.
Some of you might heard so much about how good the food was at "The House", but you have to try it by yourself. The first impressions that you might get are that it might look very busy and so small. But as we know, only the yummiest restaurant in SF is this busy. The food here is the mix between Asian and American.
To start off, let’s try “Caesar salad with crispy scallops”. Another dish I recommend you seriously is “Deep-fried salmon roll with Chinese hot mustard” The salmon roll itself is ok but with the sauce, it is delicious! Actually, the entrees here are so good. You should try them all.
For main dish, I recommend the pork chops and sea bass because it is basically what I eat. “Niman ranch pork chop with pomegranate currant sauce”, the flavor is perfectly ripe, and it's definitely not overkill. Mashed potatoes were a bit too oily but it was a great complement. When the pork chops and the sauce are mixed was to die for.
“Grilled sea bass with garlic ginger soy”, the sea bass will melt in your mouth. The garlic ginger soy dipping sauce is awesome. The sweat peas that came with it are nice and crispy. With these dishes, I’m definitely sure, you wont have any leftovers back homes.
Service is good. The food and service seem a little rushed. My recommendations is don’t forget to make reservations ahead because the space is extremely limited and be sure to arrive early to look for parking.
So if you want to take someone on a date or parents to dinner or while you have a limited budget, I recommend you "The House”.

“GEISHA FLOAT”, the mouthwatering dessert in Bay Area.
The first time I know “GEISHA FLOAT” was when my cousin brought me to Japan Town after one week arriving in San Francisco. We had Shabu-Shabu, we were so full but we didn’t give up to have a dessert to complete the meal. We went to “Cafe Hana”. And my cousin told me I would love “GEISHA FLOAT”. Ever since, it had all my favorite things! I come here for one thing and one thing only. I come here for the geisha float.
“GEISHA FLOAT” is the combination of a scoop of green tea ice cream, green tea slush, some sweet red beans (azuki beans), cubes of mochi, all topped off with whipped cream. Imagine, getting through the top 4 layers is absolutely bliss, isn’t?
Oh! You can also change the ice cream favor of “GEISHA FLOAT” too if you don’t like green tea favor. At $5, it's definitely a good deal for what you get. Recommended!
Apart form “GEISHA FLOAT”, the lychee drink was pretty good also and the green tea slush by itself is refreshing also.
I don't know if it's not very popular here in USA but I always see frozen yogurt and never soft ice cream. We, as Asian loves this thing so if you want to try some desserts that different from dessert you usually taste in SF, try “GEISHA FLOAT”.
